A former HR professional, Subhajit opted to pursue his passion of working for the cause of the environment. His persistence, commitment and patience brought his goal closer — to enhance the sustainability of the planet Earth.

Driven by this passion, Subhajit founded Mission Green Mumbai, a citizen-led environmental movement aimed at tackling climate change through community engagement and action. Under his leadership, more than 2,168+ dedicated volunteers have come together to champion this cause.

Subhajit's work is not limited to afforestation alone. He has also made notable strides in water conservation, particularly through pioneering efforts in rainwater harvesting. His innovative techniques have been successfully implemented across several housing societies and educational institutions, making a lasting impact on urban water sustainability.

His efforts align with the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, a flagship programme of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, with which he is closely associated.

Subhajit Mukherjee, the 'Environment Crusader', is credited with driving the mass movement of tree plantation in and around Mumbai. By planting over 82,000 trees, he has amplified the green cover of Mumbai — earning him the revered title of 'The Green Man'.

Work-in-progress for the biggest Rainwater Harvesting project — installing 6,000+ groundwater recharge systems to control flooding in Mumbai civic gardens. The project is commissioned in association with MCGM Mumbai and CSR support by leading corporates.
